DECISION:

That the minutes of the meeting of the Cabinet held on 28 March 2023 be approved as a correct record.

Cllr Swindlehurst provided an update with regards to the progress made by the Defibrillator Maintenance Working Group.  Cabinet thanked members for their work and would consider the latest proposals.

DECISION:

That the Forward Plan be approved for publication.

The purpose of the report was to seek Cabinet’s approval for the appointment of an elected member to the role of Member Development Champion to lead the Council’s Member Development Working Group.

Options considered:

The Cabinet was recommended to select an elected member to the position of Member Development Champion.

DECISION:         

That Councillor Dylan Pascall be appointed to the role of Member Development Champion.

The Chair to Move:-

“That, pursuant to Section 100A(2) and (4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings whereby it is likely that confidential information as defined in Section 100A (3) of the Act would be disclosed to the public in breach of the obligation of confidence or exempt information as defined in Section 100 I (1) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act would be disclosed to the public by virtue of the Paragraphs indicated.”

RESOLVED:

That, pursuant to Section 100A(2) and (4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings whereby it is likely that confidential information as defined in Section 100A (3) of the Act would be disclosed to the public in breach of the obligation of confidence or exempt information as defined in Section 100 I (1)  of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act would be disclosed to the public by virtue of the Paragraphs indicated.

The Cabinet approved a report that confirmed the award of funding under the Second Bidding Round of the Levelling Up Fund to support the delivery of the Council’s ‘Regeneration of Leek Town Centre’ Bid (the ‘Programme’) and the completion of a Memorandum of Understanding between DLUHC and the Council on the terms outlined in the report. The report also outlined and sought approval for the proposed approach to delivery of the Programme.
