Communications Strategy 2025 - 2028 Additional documents: Minutes: The report sought approval for a new Communications Strategy which would guide the Council’s communications work and activities over the next three years. The report was considered by the Resources Overview and Scrutiny Panel on 19 March 2025.
Options considered:
There were no alternative options.
DECISION:
That the Council’s new Communications Strategy for 2025-2028 and Communications Action Plan 2025-2026 be approved.

Corporate Peer Challenge Progress Review Report Additional documents: Minutes: The purpose of the report was for the Cabinet to consider the outcomes from the Corporate Peer Challenge Progress Review which took place on the 5 November 2024.The report was considered by the Resources Overview and Scrutiny Panel on 19 March 2025. It was reported that updates from strategic partners would be provided in a future report.
Options considered:
None.
DECISION:
That the findings from the Corporate Peer Challenge Progress Review be noted.

Strengthening the Relationships with Town and Parish Councils Update Additional documents: Minutes: The report provided members with an update on the progress made with regards to the Strengthening Relationships with Town and Parish Councils project. The report was considered by the Community Overview and Scrutiny Panel on 17 March 2025.
Significant progress has been made following commencement of the project. A structured approach had been implemented with regular meetings of the Town and Parish Councils Working Group and a Clerks Forum, improved communication via the issue of regular newsletters and the creation of a Teams channel and the adoption of the Town and Parish Charter.
Options considered:
Members were invited to suggest alternative areas of focus for the future direction of the project.
DECISION:
That the progress made to date be noted and that the proposed next steps and future areas of work be approved. |

Disposal Policy for Land and Property Including Land Related Transaction Additional documents: Minutes: The purpose of the report was to consider an update to the Disposal Policy that was last approved in 2018. The report was considered by the Resources Overview and Scrutiny Panel on 19 March 2025.
A full review of the policy had been undertaken, and no material changes were identified as being required although a new section had been added to recognise that Local Government Reorganisation was likely to have an impact on the Council’s decisions around asset disposals.
Options considered:
The Council may have retain the existing policy (not recommended).
DECISION:
That the disposal policy for land and property as attached at Appendix A to the report be approved.

“That, pursuant to Section 100A(2) and (4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings whereby it is likely that confidential information as defined in Section 100A (3) of the Act would be disclosed to the public in breach of the obligation of confidence or exempt information as defined in Section 100 I (1) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act would be disclosed to the public by virtue of the Paragraphs indicated.”
