RESOLVED: That the minutes of the meeting held on 5 November 2020 be approved as a correct record.

Consideration was given to the revised statutory guidance in relation to Taxi and Private Hire vehicles and amendments to the Council’s current Policy to reflect this guidance.  Discussion took place on protecting the vulnerable and having signed up to the National Register of Taxi and Private Hire Licence Revocations and Refusals (NR3), to facilitate information sharing between authorities.

RESOLVED:  That the contents of the report be noted, the recommendations in relation to the enforcement of the Council’s Taxi and Private Hire Licencing Policy 2016 approved and the Policy amended where proposed accordingly.

Members were appraised of the requirement to review the Council’s Alcohol Licensing Policy every 5 years and considered the revised Licensing Policy 2021-26.  Updates, amendments and clarifications had been included. Consideration was given to improved location plans for temporary events and premises, relevant parish councils being notified and processes followed. 

Pavement licensing as a separate issue, the Covid pandemic and the potential possible effect on licensed premises were also discussed.

RESOLVED: That Council be RECOMMENDED to approve the Council’s Licensing Policy 2021-26.
