RESOLVED:

That the minutes of the meeting held 2 March 2017 be approved as a correct record.

Consideration was given to enforcement actions by the Licensing Service in the period January to June 2017.  The Intoxicated Campaign and the possibility of rolling out information to additional schools and outreach groups was discussed.  It was also reported that work was underway to regularly update the public register of licensed premises and personal licence holders.

There was an update on the progress and revised timetable for the implementation of the Hackney Carriage Decals.

The Committee received an update on the progress and revised timetable to implement a preferred garage Taxi Testing regime for Private Hire and Hackney Carriage licences.

To resolve that the press and public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following item of business as there may be disclosure of exempt information as set out in Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Governnent Act 1972

That the public and press be excluded from the meeting for the following item because there may be disclosure to them of exempt information as defined in paragraph 3 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

There was an update on the proposed use of Personnel checks to carry out the Disclosure and Barring checks for new and existing drivers.

RESOLVED:

That the content of the report be noted and the use of Personnel checks on the basis outlined in the report be noted.
