Councillor Johnson declared an other interest in connection with Item 6 Complaints - Review and Monitoring Report.

RESOLVED:

That the minutes of the meeting held on 13 July 2017 be approved.

The Committee considered a report which reviewed the Local Ethical Framework. This brought together various Council policies to ensure high standards of ethical behaviour and good governance throughout the Authority.  The Framework included a commitment to review the document to ensure that it was entirely “fit for purpose” and reflects all relevant best practice guidance.

The revised document took into account consequential amendments including the adoption of the Local Public Services Senior Managers’ Code of Ethics and revised core principles for good governance held within the Council’s Code of Corporate Governance.

RESOLVED:

That the proposed revised Local Ethical Framework be approved.

RESOLVED:

That the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items as there may be disclosure to them of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

RESOLVED:

That the exempt minutes of the meeting of the Standards Committee held on 16 March 2017 be approved.

There was a report on complaints made to the Monitoring Officer under the Council’s agreed arrangements for dealing with standards complaints.

That the contents of the report be noted.
