Department of Communities and Local Government consultation on updating disqualification criteria for local authority members pdf icon PDF 203 KB

Consideration was given to the government’s proposals for updating the criteria which disqualify individuals from being elected, or holding office, as a local authority member or directly elected mayor.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the contents of the report noted and the Council’s Democratic Services section instructed to send any consultation response to the Department for Communities and Local Government, before the close of the consultation on Friday 8th December 2017.

Minutes:

Councillor development activities held over the previous 12 months were reviewed.  It was reported that Code of Conduct training and 2 further Customer Service sessions  were planned.  Training on Development Control and training available to Councillors  working in the day were also discussed.
