Stoke-Leek Railway Line Strategic Outline Business Case Funding Minutes: STATEMENT OF THE REASONS FOR THE DECISION:
The report sought approval to accept a grant from Department for Transport of up to £50,000 towards 75% of the costs to prepare a Strategic Outline Business Case for reopening the Stoke-Leek Railway line.
ANY ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED:
There was the option to not take forward the offer of the grant, but at that stage it made sense to use Department for Transport resources to build the outline business case and then consider any further implications.
DECISION:
That the Council accept the grant offer from Department for Transport (of up to £50,000) to develop a Strategic Outline Business Case (SOBC) for a Stoke-Leek Railway line;
That the procurement of consultants to help produce the SOBC be approved;
If the SOBC were successful, a further report to be presented outlining next steps and any further considerations.
A RECORD OF ANY CONFLICT OF INTEREST DECLARED:
None
A NOTE OF ANY DISPENSATION, IF GRANTED:
None
