STATEMENT OF THE REASONS FOR THE DECISION:

To obtain approval of an allocation of £100,000 capital budget to support projects linked to delivering the priorities of the Move More Staffordshire Moorlands strategy.

Move More Staffordshire Moorlands was launched in the summer of 2023 and is a partnership strategy which outlines how physical activity and movement can benefit our communities health and wellbeing. The Strategy sets out how the Council will work together with a range of partners to improve opportunities for those who may be unable to access physical activity opportunities for a range of reasons, particularly those people/communities who experience the greatest disadvantage.

ANY ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED:

  To approve the allocation of £100,000 capital funding to support the delivery projects which align to the principles and priorities of the Move More strategy to cover financial years 2024/25 and 2025/26. RECOMMENDED.

To not approve the allocation of £100,000 capital funding. NOT RECOMMENDED.

DECISION:

That the Portfolio Holder approved the allocation of £100,000 capital budget to support projects linked to delivering the priorities of the Move More Staffordshire Moorlands strategy.
