Recording Announcement

Minutes:

The Chair confirmed that the meeting was being broadcast live to the internet via the Council’s website and was capaable of repeated viewing. The images and sound recording may be used for training purposes within the Council.  All were asked to keep to the speaking guidelines which were outlined.  Any views expressed by any speakers in the meeting are the speaker’s own and do not necessarily reflect the view of High Peak Borough Council.

Energy Project Update - Marches Energy Agency pdf icon PDF 467 KB

Minutes:

Members received a presentation from Marches Energy Agency which covered the following;

·         Overview of the UK Shared Prosperity enhanced energy advice service

·         Research data for EPC ratings, indices of deprivation and fuel poverty

·         Events

·         Home Visits

·         Initial Findings

·         Next Steps.

 

Members thanked representatives for their engagement and requested they be notified of future events to fully engage and support them. They discussed how the composition of homes affected energy usage, how councillors could support and setting up community events.

Members were advised that the funding expires in March.

Nature Update - Gillian Wright (verbal)

Minutes:

Members received an update on the commenting process for the Derbyshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy and were reminded that the deadline was 3rd February 2025.

Summary of Domestic Energy Strands - Gillian Wright (verbal)

Minutes:

Members were advised which schemes were currently available and received summaries of the ECO, GBIS and HUG programmes. They were informed of the Warm Homes Local Grant which would replace HUG.

Community Climate and Nature Fund - Gillian Wright (verbal)

Minutes:

Members received a summary on the Climate Change and Nature Community Fund detailing how many groups it had helped, the geographical, the projects and budget since it was established in 2022.

The Chair discussed items for the next meeting and it was confirmed that it was the intention for Nature to be on every agenda. There would be an agenda planning meeting before the next meeting to confirm agenda items.
